These Terms govern the website at cairn.software. The Cairn macOS app is distributed through the Apple Mac App Store and is licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, not a custom Cairn EULA.
1. Operator
The Site and Cairn are operated by Anton Platonov, ditta individuale, Bologna, Italy (P.IVA 04308291204). Full operator details are in the legal notice. Questions may be sent to help@cairn.software.
2. App Store purchases
Cairn is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles payment processing, receipts, tax collection where applicable, delivery, Family Sharing or volume-purchase features where available, and refund administration under Apple's terms and policies. Refund requests should be made through Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
3. Website and app use
You may not misuse the Site or Cairn, interfere with their operation, attempt unauthorised access, remove notices, infringe our intellectual-property rights, or use Cairn to capture, store, or share content that you are not legally entitled to capture, store, or share.
4. Content and outputs
You are responsible for the screenshots, voice notes, typed notes, and other content you create or store with Cairn. Cairn's OCR, transcription, embeddings, and search results are machine-generated and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on them where accuracy is legally, medically, financially, professionally, or safety critical.
5. Website materials
The Site, Cairn name, visual design, text, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors unless stated otherwise. Third-party open-source software included in Cairn remains governed by its own licence terms and notices.
6. Changes and law
We may update this page from time to time by changing the version and date above. These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, this does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of habitual residence.
